So there you have it. I just haven’t felt like writing lately. I’m not sick or anything, just lazy and unmotivated, I guess. But I’ve been having guilt or something about not posting anything lately, so here is a summation of the last week or so.
Over the weekend AE went to visit his grandparents (they live a few hours away), so N and I had some uninterrupted time to ourselves. We went out to eat a few times, bought and assembled a treadmill, worked in the yard, and generally did whatever we wanted. We also rented a couple of movies, which brings me to:
NONSOCCERMOM’S FASCINATING MOVIE REVIEW BULLETS! (or, not.)
- Snakes on a Plane! I actually really liked this. It was cheesy, sure, but it didn’t try and take itself too seriously. The snakes were obviously computer-generated (most of them at least), but that is totally understandable. Far easier than wrangling with real snakes, I’m sure. It was kind of bloody in parts, but I can deal with that. Overall, action movies are my favorite and this one definitely fit the bill. Not the movie for you if you are looking for Oscar-worthy acting, but there were some pretty good one-liners. Plus, Samuel L. Jackson is just cool.
- Grosse Pointe Blank. Yes, I’m a little behind with this one seeing as it came out in 1997 but hey, I’ve been busy. Anyway, I liked it as well. John Cusack and Minnie Driver seemed to have chemistry, so that was a great pairing. And it was just funny. There’s not really much else to say.
Let’s see, what else happened? Oh. Birthday, yes. I am now 28 years old. Which apparently is not that different than 27, just closer to 30 as my son keeps pointing out. It’s funny, the older you get, the less important birthdays seem to be…just another day. I did get a lot of nice cards and gifts (plus cash! woo!) though, so that is always good. N and AE got me the final two seasons of MacGyver on DVD. Now I have the whole collection. Rock on!!
