Miss T’s daycare teachers gave me a little gift for Mother’s Day – a small decorative plate with her footprint, name and the year (I’m not explaining it all that well, but I think you get the point).  It even has a little display stand, so I’ve set it up on my desk at work.  The plate and stand are plastic, so I’m sure it is something that they buy in bulk for relatively cheap but still - a very sweet gift idea.  I approve.

We have no real plans for Mother’s Day as far as I know (we’ve even managed to get out of going to visit family), and honestly I’m not expecting anything.  I told my husband not to buy me a gift since we’re trying to watch our budget and really and truly I don’t get all worked up over this kind of “holiday” anyway.  I’ll be happy and consider the day a complete success if I can take a nap Sunday afternoon or otherwise have a little time to myself.  Which maybe defeats the purpose of Mother’s Day, now that I think about it.  Hmm.

AE has a tee-ball game this evening, and my mom is coming into town to watch him play.  This is one of only a few Friday games that he has so it just happened to time out with Mother’s Day weekend.  She won’t actually be here on Sunday but it will be nice to see her anyway.  Even though we already mailed a card and some photos of the kids to her house.  Oh well.   AE is very excited that she is coming to the game, but not for the reason you would expect.  We’re in charge of bringing the post-game snacks tonight and when I told him that Nonna was coming he got all excited and said “OK!  To watch me bring the snacks?”  Yep!  She’s making a two-hour drive to watch you hand out Capri-Sun and PB&J crackers.

I saw this news article today and simply cannot even imagine it.  Some days I feel like I can’t even deal with two children, and she’s going to have her 18th?  Not to mention being pregnant for a total of 11 years.  I say again, THIS WOMAN HAS BEEN PREGNANT FOR ELEVEN YEARS OF HER LIFE.  That’s just crazy talk.  I am such a cranky pregnant lady there is no way my husband could put up with that.  WOW, is all I can say.

I’m sad to report that the days of Food Stealing Lady are most likely over.  It seems the e-mail worked.  FSL got the hint and didn’t come anywhere near our food last Friday, and I haven’t really seen her at our end of the building at all this week.  However, I did see her in the breakroom earlier today, where she was hurriedly eating a cinnamon roll with a guilty look on her face.

Miss T didn’t have a great night last night.  She wasn’t fussy or anything, just didn’t want to settle down.  In a rare stroke of luck, I managed to get out of quite a bit of the late-night baby wrangling duties.  I went to bed around 10, thinking that I should try to get a few decent hours of sleep in since she would surely be up most of the night.  N stays up much later than me anyway so I figured he could deal with her until he was ready to come to bed.  She kept him busy until 12:30, at which point he finally got her down and came to bed himself.  Miss T then proceeded to sleep until 5:45, which means I got about 7 1/2 hours of fairly good sleep.  Score!
