My mood has improved approximately 400% over yesterday. It’s amazing what a decent night of sleep and the knowledge that you are only working a half-day will do for you.

Sorry for just linking and not just putting the picture here (technical issues when I post at work, not that I would ever do that), but this was in AE’s bowl of Lucky Charms the other day. It looked like a lava rock and smelled like an Oreo cookie. But it did not taste like an Oreo according to my brave husband.

Can someone please explain why USA Network continues to air episodes of Becker? This show is not funny at all. I realize they are showing it at five in the morning – not exactly primetime – but if I happen to be awake and looking for something to watch I don’t want to be faced with this crap. Can we show something with some entertainment value, please?

AE has gotten really bad about not paying attention to what he is doing. The other morning he was putting on his shoes and they were filled with sand and pebbles from the playground. So he turned them over and dumped it all into a pile on our living room rug. The hell? He’s almost six, he knows better than that. And then yesterday he took Miss T’s daily report out of her diaper bag, looked at it like he does every day, and then threw it out before either N or I had the chance to see it. The big problem here was that he didn’t remember where he threw it away. He kept insisting that he had thrown it in the kitchen trash, but after an exhaustive search we found it in the master bathroom. It had only been about 10 minutes since he threw it out, even MY memory isn’t that bad. He just bops along, not paying attention to anything, EVER. I asked a co-worker if her 20-year-old son did stuff like that as a kid and it didn’t give me hope when she said he still does.

I was channel-surfing last night and ran across one of the few movies that N and I both enjoy – The Wedding Singer. I think this is my favorite Adam Sandler movie. It is sweet and funny and romantic, and has an outstanding soundtrack if you like ’80s music (and who doesn’t?). Overall just a really fun movie. I think this may be one that I need to add to our DVD collection. Also, I had no idea it was made 10 years ago. HOLY COW, I am old.
