My cleaning lady (or cleaning girl, as my husband says - since she is a college student he feels that is more accurate.  That’s probably not PC.  Cleaning…person?)  comes today!  I am so excited and cannot wait to go home to a clean house.

She came over yesterday evening for a walk-through and was asking me all sorts of questions about how I wanted her to do this and that.  From my answers, I’m quite sure she was wondering if I ever clean at all.  Ummm, yeah, I don’t really have anything to clean the ceiling fans with.  [And as you can see, they have not been cleaned since…um, EVER.]  Oops, I appear to be out of bathroom cleaning supplies.  Hmm.  [MY GOD, when did I last clean the shower?!]  What do I want you to dust the furniture with?  Ah, it doesn’t really matter.  Here’s a rag!  We don’t really live in squalor, I promise, it’s just that I’m more of a spot cleaner.  If something grosses me out, I clean it right then, but I don’t regularly keep on top of mopping or dusting or ceiling fans.  Certain things seem kind of pointless when you have kids and indoor pets.  However, I am an obsessive vacuumer so you can rest assured that my carpets are always clean.

In any case, I am really looking forward to seeing how it looks when I get home.  I’m kind of considering today a trial run and I have low expectations anyway (obviously), so unless it looks exactly the same as I left it I’m sure I’ll be pleased with the results.  Update tomorrow, I know you can HARDLY WAIT.

Last night I was flipping through channels and came across 13 Going on 30.  You guys!  This is such a cute movie!  I had seen it back when it was in the theater but evidently had forgotten how sweet and funny it is.  Jennifer Garner is just adorable, and while I don’t necessarily think that Mark Ruffalo is all that cute, he really is a good choice for her childhood friend Matt.  And I don’t know why, but I found it interesting that her boss is played by Gollum.  I sat there for half the movie wondering if that was him and sure enough.  Not to mention, the Thriller dance scene looks like it was a lot of fun to film.  A great movie, I laughed out loud several times, and my husband didn’t make me change the channel.  That says a lot right there.

Now that Miss T is mobile (not to mention dangerously close to pulling up – GOOD GOD child, you do not have to hit all the developmental milestones AT ONCE), I’m going to have to spend some time babyproofing.  This morning she was sitting outside the open bathroom door while I put on my makeup.  I looked away to put on mascara and when I looked back, she had scooted over to the ficus tree in the corner and was sticking a rock from the base into her mouth.  I took it away, moved her to another spot on the carpet and stood back to see if she would do it again.  Sure enough, she scuttled her little diapered butt over there and grabbed another one immediately.  This one is going to keep me on my toes, I have a feeling.

My sister sent me an e-mail yesterday with a bunch of those fake motivational posters.  And I found one that I think sums up this blog - and possibly my life - perfectly:
