Hey, you want to know something?  I have absolutely nothing of interest to say.  However, I have exactly 14 minutes before AE’s bathtime so let’s see what I can come up with.  I can virtually promise that it will all be quite random and probably won’t make a lot of sense.  That’s how I roll.

This morning when I woke up to Miss T fussing at 5:26, I got excited (sad, isn’t it?) because I thought she had slept through the night.  Yay!  But then my husband informed me that he had fed her around midnight.  Boo.  In other words, she’ll be a year old on December 27 and STILL doesn’t sleep through the night.

I LOVE my new haircut!!  The true test is always having to style a new cut oneself, and I am a really bad hair-fixer.  Really bad.  That is why my hair always looks like crap.  However, it is amazing what a difference a good cut makes. and now my hair does NOT look like crap, if I do say so myself.  This may be the very first quality haircut I’ve ever had in almost 30 years of life.  Huh.  That’s pretty pathetic.

My mom called me at work around 11:00 yesterday morning, and the call went a little something like this:

Me:  This is nonsoccermom.

Mom:  Hello!  This is your mother!  Just wanted to let you know that everything is fine!

Me:  Oooooooo-kay?  That’s…good?

Mom:  Well, I figured you were wondering how Grandma’s surgery had gone.

Me:  I see.  That would require that I actually KNEW GRANDMA WAS HAVING SURGERY TODAY.

Mom:  Huh.  I could have sworn I told you!  I’m almost sure of it.

Me:  You always think that, Mother.  Yet you never tell me anything.  People DIE and I don’t find out for months!!

Mom:  I really think I told you about this.  Anyway, she’s fine!

Like I would forget that Grandma was having surgery!  The sad thing is, I know this is my future.  Mom does it to me all the time, and Grandma does it to her – in fact, it turns out that Grandma neglected to even tell Mom she was having the surgery until two days before.  Ah, the things my husband and kids get to look forward to…

We’re celebrating Christmas with my family one week from tomorrow, on December 20, and I have not yet bought gifts for the two people whose names we drew.  Oops.  Guess I know what I’ll be doing this weekend.

And with that, I’m out.  For it is bathtime and then BEDTIME for certain people, and for that I am very thankful.  It’s been a long week.
