So!  Puking, puking and more puking.  Check!  Man, I hate puking.  Whether it is me or somebody else it totally sucks.  Or blows, whatever.  Give me upper respiratory crap or even strep throat any day of the week.

While I wasn’t thrilled about Tuesday’s turn of events with Miss T, I wasn’t totally surprised.  She’s sick a lot.  I guess it comes from being in daycare and around so many other kids at such a young age.

However, for some reason it hadn’t even occurred to me that AE might get sick.  He NEVER gets sick.  Oh, he’s a germ carrier to be sure – pinkeye, colds, bubonic plague – but never seems to actually suffer any ill effects.  This time, though, the poor little guy is totally miserable.  And apparently has been since about 4:00 this morning, when I heard crying and for the life of me couldn’t figure out who it was since it wasn’t coming from the baby monitor.  It didn’t take long for realization to dawn when a sour-smelling AE came wailing into our bedroom.  YUCK.  (Marginally related side note:  You know you have arrived as a parent when you don’t even give a second thought to using your hands as a vomit receptacle because that’s preferable to cleaning the carpet.)

I’m not sure if he’s better or not…he hasn’t puked since around 2:00 this afternoon, but seems feverish and is incredibly tired and weepy.  He says he feels better so I guess that’s something.  This bug must run its course fairly quickly, since Miss T appears to be on the mend.  She felt well enough to try and comfort her brother as he hunched, gagging, over a bowl this morning – when she saw me patting him on the back she had to come pat him too.

Given the apparent rampant contagiousness of this particular virus, I’m surprised I’m even able to write at this moment.  I fully expected to be hunched over the toilet by now, spewing my own brains out and begging the baby Jeebus for mercy.  Ah, well, it’s only a matter of time.  Because if N and I don’t catch this thing, it will be a Christmas miracle.
