Trying to get back into the swing of things after an extended vacation is challenging, to say the least.  One of the perks of a job in the academic sector is the near two weeks we get around Christmas, but it is always so hard to go back to work and get back into the routine.  Plus, we oh-so-wisely scheduled Miss T’s 12-month-checkup for 8 a.m. Monday, so delaying the inevitable didn’t help matters any.

Segue!  Speaking of Miss T, she is pretty much perfect according to the doctor (not that I needed his confirmation).  Tall and skinny, though – 31.5 inches tall but only 20.5 pounds.  Quite a lightweight, I’m pretty sure AE hit 20 pounds by 6 months old.  But she’s easily hit all of the developmental milestones, of course.  Is she crawling?  Pulling to stand?  Well, you tell me – does standing on a chair while rocking it back and forth count?

Now that Miss T is in the toddler class at daycare, her nap schedule has been pushed back to about an hour later than usual.  I keep telling myself that she’ll adjust, that getting her to bed at night will go back to normal.  But right now, I feel that we’ve taken a giant step backwards in the sleep department.  Ah, well, it’s not like it was all that great to begin with.  Blah.

Pathetic segue 2.0!  And speaking of blah, it turns out that’s about how I’m feeling at the moment.  Right now my list o’ New Year’s resolutions seems a bit daunting, so instead of walking on the treadmill or listing Super Bowl programs on eBay or even having a glass of wine, here I sit, in a fuzzy pink bathrobe, typing the world’s most boring post.  Eh.  No big deal, I suppose.  After all, tomorrow is another day.

*Which actually has nothing to do with this post, except that one of my coworkers is now in possession of one of these babies, which I have been coveting for some time and in person is even more hilariously awesome than I thought it would be.  We’re now plotting ways to best deploy it around our cube farm without actually getting fired.
