Today my lovely friend Shelly loaned me Guitar Hero:  Metallica because she knows the depth of my Metallica devotion.  Her hubby shares the same level of adoration, so they bought the Wii game when it was released this last weekend.  I was on the fence about whether or not I wanted to spend the money so a loaner sounded like a good plan.  YOU GUYS.  I SUCK.  Totally.  I don’t know if it is complete and utter lack of hand-eye coordination or the wine or what but I am listening to Metallica on iTunes right now because I shredded its sanctity by being booed offstage repeatedly.  Maybe I’ll be like Shelly’s husband and blame the controller!  Either way, I WILL NOT BE DEFEATED.  I will purchase this game, and I will kick its ass.  Never mind that I can’t even master the guitar part on “easy” with The Unforgiven slowed down considerably, I will be rocking the “advanced” level soon.  Mark my words.  I will not continue to be defeated by my husband, a man who prefers classical music to metal.  THIS WILL NOT STAND.

Miss T went to the doctor for her 15-month checkup today, and SURPRISE!  She is still tall and skinny, at 22 pounds (roughly the 50th percentile) and 32 inches tall (90-95th percentile).  The doctor is pleased with her development thus far, and unless she fails to have a “language explosion” around 18 months (shouldn’t be a problem seeing as she already has an impressive array of words.  Word to the wise:  if you have eyeballs, if you hear her say “eye” you better close yours because a wee finger is forthcoming), we don’t have to go back until she turns two.

I pulled out AE’s baby book for comparison, and of course since he’s a boy he weighed a couple pounds more at this age (but was on the light side, at the 40th percentile), but was only a 1/2 inch taller.  Miss T is going to be quite the stringbean if this keeps up.

I’m going to stay overnight with my sister in a couple weeks.  She just got her very first apartment all by herself, and we’re going to take advantage and have some sorely needed sisterly bonding time.  I’m trying to remember the last time just the two of us hung out, without our parents or my kids or husband or someone, and um…hmmmm.  Not coming up with much.  Yikes, when the hell did we last have some time one-on-one?  When I was in college?  Right before I got married?  Surely that can’t be right…anyhow, we’ll have a great time and it is clearly overdue.  Not to mention, it will undoubtedly provide both of us with some excellent blog fodder.  And really, isn’t that what it’s all about?  Heh.

Am I the only one who thinks that Cadbury Creme Eggs are wicked nasty?  N keeps spending money on them every time he goes to the grocery or drugstore and I’m sorry, but they just don’t seem worth 69 cents a pop.  Is that just me?

I have some wine reviews to get to along with a couple of movie reviews, so I’m putting this here to make me accountable.  Come on, folks!  My sad-ass memory needs your help!  Harassment!  Reminders!  That is what I’m looking for.  Don’t let me down!
