So far today, I have done the following (with AE in tow, of course, except for the items remotely related to cleaning in any way):
- Gotten a haircut (“MOOO-OM. You said it wouldn’t take a long time!”)
- Eaten lunch at Chick-fil-A
- Bought 95% of the school supplies on AE’s 1st grade list (except that damn manila paper. Why is THAT so hard to come by? It is on EVERY SINGLE SCHOOL SUPPLY LIST, EVER, yet NO ONE carries it. HATE.)
- Played Clue with AE (I don’t think he really gets what is going on. For instance, he seems to think that the suspects are just entering the room while holding the item in question. But I’m fine with not having to explain homicide to an innocent 6-year-old mind just yet.)
- Dragged our huge sectional couch out of its normal spot so I could vacuum underneath it, consequently locating a pacifier, a plastic Barbie makeup compact, a Thomas the Tank Engine DVD case, two Little People, a beloved Dory bathtime toy, a plastic bowl, tea stains on the carpet, and a giant pile of dust and animal hair
- Febreezed, vacuumed and scrubbed the hell out of the couch to hide the fact that a 60-pound dog lounges on it for many hours every day
- Laundry, laundry and more laundry
- Written this blog post
Still on the list as time allows:
- Doing the dishes in the sink
- Folding more laundry
- Putting away school supplies
- Spending the remainder of an iTunes gift card
