Miss T has finally found her stride!  After a month of almost walking but not quite, she seems to have figured it out.  I mean, she isn’t ready to participate in a 5K or anything, and she still gets around faster by crawling, but I think we can officially count her among the bipeds.  She is very cute, too, like a wee little Frankenstein’s monster.  New toddlers are so funny, the way they lurch about.

And apparently this new skill is making her very hungry.  Either that, or it is coinciding with a growth spurt.  Last night before bed she took 9 ounces of formula, and then woke at 2:30 in the morning to drain another 4 ounces.  That is probably a record for her, difficult little eater that she is.

I think the sinus infection I had earlier this month has progressed into a mild case of bronchitis, because I’ve developed this horrible choking cough.  A cough that is so violent it causes me to occasionally gag.  Lovely, no?  I have tried everything to rein it in – cough drops, cough syrup, Nyquil, hot steam vaporizers, drinking boatloads of water, hot tea, peppermints, sheer force of will, etc.  Well, everything except going to the doctor, the one thing that would probably make a difference.  I’m sure it is really bothering out the people in the cubicles around me, I just hope it isn’t as gross as THIS coworker.  Because, EW.

This morning I had just washed my face in the sink and when I went to turn off the hot water, the handle broke off in my hand.  N had to turn the water off underneath so now we won’t be able to use that sink until we can replace the faucet.  And of course over the weekend I established that my cell phone is officially beyond saving (it works, but only if you don’t mind having every conversation on speakerphone) so it will have to be replaced.  Now I will sit back and wait on item #3 to fall apart, which will surely be something incredibly expensive.  Like our hot water heater or maybe my car.

I don’t really mind having to replace the faucet, as we were planning on doing that evenually anyway.  But now we have to decide what to replace it with.  Should we just put in something similar to the broken faucet, so that it matches the other sink?  Do we go ahead and replace both?  If so, with what?  We were planning on completely redoing our master bath, possibly next summer.  But we currently don’t have any idea what we want to do in there.  Plus I tend to be indecisive in home decor-related matters, so I have a feeling that my sink may be out of commission for a while.

I took AE to get his hair cut on Saturday, since I needed a trim as well.  They called me back first, so I wasn’t able to hover around his chair like I usually do.  He sat in the waiting area until they called him, then he sat very still and even had a conversation with the stylist.  After she was done she brushed him off and he went right back to patiently waiting on me.  I’m so proud!  Sometimes he just astonishes me with how grown-up he can be.
