We’ve been having what Texans deem “inclement weather” around here the last few days – freezing temperatures, sleet, ice, etc. My office was closed yesterday because most people around here don’t know how to drive on ice and they wanted to keep us off the roads.

Last night I expected a call from my boss saying that we would be opening late today, because the weather hasn’t improved at all. No one called. Then I expected to get the call this morning, because local schools were announcing closures…still nothing. So I got up, got ready, and got myself to the office by 8:00 – and was the only one there. Awesome.

Called my officemate, and turns out that he got a call last night not to come in until noon…looks like I was forgotten about. Very typical – if something like that were to happen to anyone, it would be me. So I got to haul myself home in the freezing rain and snow flurries only to have to get out again in a little while.

To make things even more frustrating, I have two doctor’s appointments scheduled for this afternoon. I’m betting that the one I had to schedule 6 weeks in advance will get cancelled and have to be rescheduled. Anyone want to take that bet?
