I just can’t figure out Miss T. Her sleep habits are all over the place. One night she goes down easy and stays down until midnight or 12:30, then we have hell trying to get her back to sleep when she wakes up to eat. (Yes, she is still waking up almost every night to eat.) Another night I have to fight and fight to get her down, going in continuously to put her pacifier back in or pat her little butt, but then once she finally does settle in she’ll sleep the whole night. It’s a total crapshoot and quite frankly I’m ready for some kind of pattern. Any kind of pattern, I’m not picky at this point. I dread going to bed myself each night because I never know how long I have until I’ll have to deal with her. And now she has a cold (AGAIN) so all bets are off. In fact, she is stirring as I write this and I fully expect to spend half the night on the couch with her.

Work is still incredibly busy for me and practically everyone else in my department. Which is weird, normally we aren’t all busy at once unless there is some sort of a major deadline which right now there isn’t. This kind of busy is the worst in my opinion – it is all a bunch of little crap come back to haunt us. Budgets and/or proposals from months ago that won’t leave me alone. You know how you make a to do list, mark 3 things off and then have to add 6 more? The last week has been like that for me. SO FUN. Made even better by the hard-core sleep deprivation I am currently experiencing.

AE is still visiting his grandparents. We’re scheduled to retrieve him on Sunday, which in addition to being Father’s Day is also our wedding anniversary. Happy Father’s Day/Anniversary, hon, we get to spend half the day in the car. Whee!

In other car-related news, it cost over $60 to fill up my mid-size SUV this weekend. And I know gas is much cheaper in our area than in a lot of other places. I remember my senior year in high school it was 88 cents a gallon! I could put $5 of gas in my car and it would last me over a week! Now that won’t even get me down the road to the next gas station. *shakes fist angrily at sky*

I had to stick my hand in my glass of milk this evening before I could drink it because as I was pouring the little round plastic thing fell off the jug and into my glass. You know, the part that keeps the lid screwed in place before you open it the first time? How lame is that? I’m only even drinking milk with dinner because without AE here to have his daily bowl of cereal it is about to go bad. And since I am painfully cheap I would rather drink the whole damn thing myself rather than let it go to waste.

I caught a fun movie on TV this weekend – My Big Fat Greek Wedding. If you haven’t seen it then you should. N and I both really enjoy it – it is a cute romantic comedy without being way too girly. I’m actually not big on the chick flick myself (obviously, since my favorite movies are either action or horror) and this one is way more comedy than romance. Nia Vardalos is really funny, and I believe she based the screenplay on her real life. Another one that I can watch over and over.

I also caught part of Cliffhanger while I was up with Miss T in the wee hours. Um. This one is NOT good and is in fact a monumental waste of time. The acting is bad, the plot weak, and that woman that starred in Northern Exposure irritates the crap out of me. And there are some incredibly lame one-liners as well. It is one of those things that I will watch if there is absolutely nothing on at all, but once I realized Nick at Nite was airing Roseanne I flipped over to that instead.

Time to wrap this up and get ready for bed. Might as well try to grab a few winks while Miss T is actually asleep. Here we go again.
