Oh, people. I have a serious case of The Cranky. I can’t even go into detail here because it will cause me to turn into a horrifically ranty ball of rage (TOO LATE) but suffice it to say that earlier today I felt myself slipping into the seventh circle of hell because of one woman’s stupidity. *takes deep breath* Serenity now, serenity now!!

In other angry, gripey news, I’m having a lot of trouble with my iGoogle home page lately – it isn’t updating with new blog posts so I’m having to go check on each blog OLD SCHOOL. I don’t understand how to use Google Reader or RSS feeds at all (I really don’t. Don’t try to explain, my husband has tried many, many times. It simply DOES NOT COMPUTE.), so I can’t (won’t) switch over but it appears that even if I did that could be a major issue as well. What the hell is going on here? MASSIVE FAIL, indeed.

ALRIGHTY THEN. Moving on. We got AE back from his two-week grandparent extravaganza on Saturday, and have spent the last few days re-programming him to The Way We Do Things At Home. Also known as No, We Do Not Eat After We Go To Bed. Oh well. He’s been fine (more cooperative than he usually is when he returns from being spoiled), and I am very glad to have him back. I missed the little guy! I think he may have even missed his sister a smidge (although he would be loathe to admit it) – he has actually been willing to acknowledge her presence and even give her a kiss from time to time. So that is nice. Also nice: having a third person to help feed the pets and retrieve lost pacifiers.

We’re still in the same boat as before with Miss T. She sleeps great up until around midnight, maybe 2 a.m. (if we’re lucky) then it is up and down, up and down the rest of the night. Maybe it is all related to teething, maybe it is because she is working on crawling, maybe the direction of the wind doesn’t please Her Highness. Either way I am tired of thinking about possible causes and/or solutions so I am just going to try and deal with it – hopefully with minimal complaint – from here on out. She’ll sleep through the night eventually, be it tonight or more than a year from now. I’m not wasting any more time worrying about it.

While I was up with Miss T the other night, I came across a movie I had never heard of: Shoot to Kill. (Apparently called Deadly Pursuit in the UK.) It was okay. I don’t think I got the full effect since I was watching it muted with the captioning on, but I did actually watch it in its entirety which says something I guess. I was interested to see that Tom Berenger really was truly handsome at one point. In my opinion he’s always been just almost handsome, but somehow lacking that one little thing. Not bad-looking at all in this one, but Major League was made the very next year and he wasn’t nearly as cute in it so I’m not sure what happened there. As for the movie itself, the plot was a little thin and didn’t really make for a full-length feature. As a matter of fact, I believe there was an episode of MacGyver with the exact same storyline and that was done in an hour. This may have been the first (and to date, the only) Sidney Poitier movie I have ever seen, and I really have no opinion either way on him. He seemed decent enough. Like I said, without the sound it is hard to get the full effect. To sum up: an acceptable watch if you happen to be awake in the wee hours of the morning, but probably not worth the time and money to rent it.

N and I got into a “discussion” Friday night about a movie I really want to see: The Happening. I am dying to see it and as I have said several times before, that kind of movie holds no interest at all for my husband. An ad for it came on TV and I mentioned (for the zillionth time) that I really wanted to see it. He said something to the effect of not knowing why I want to see a movie that is obvious crap. I made the mistake of saying that I didn’t expect it to be a good movie, but I wanted to see it anyway. Then I tried to backpedal and explain that I just meant I wasn’t expecting Oscar-caliber quality but he was too busy laughing at that point to listen at all. I swear, sometimes I just leave myself wide open.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand, as an added bonus to this super-cheerful day, I just got off the phone with AE’s teacher at daycare who says he has a red itchy rash around his eye that seems to be getting worse as the day goes on. SWELL.
