So today thus far has been much better than yesterday.  (Of course, yesterday was wicked AWFUL so it wouldn’t take much.)  I will illustrate my mood today with a recent picture of Miss T:

See?  Isn’t that better?  Part of my pleasant mood is stemming from the fact that I can actually PUT photos in my posts now.  We didn’t have Internet Explorer 7 on our work computers until this very day, and apparently IE 6 was not capable of supporting the image upload feature in WordPress.  Or something technical blah blah talkyspeak disclaimer I DIDN’T ASK BECAUSE I NEVER POST AT WORK etc.  But now I can put photos in, so here you go.  Daily dose of cute baby.

AE was set to go on his very first field trip today, to the Blue Bell Creamery in nearby Brenham.  He was all kinds of excited about it, but worried that he would miss out because of his swimming lessons.  Since he doesn’t get done with swimming until 8:25 and they were planning to leave the daycare at 8:45, it was pushing it a little to get him there.  But N tells me that they made it just in time, so crisis averted.  I’ll be interested to see if he buys anything at the gift shop.  We sent him with $10, but I see this going one of three ways:  A) He totally forgets he has the money and buys nothing, but whines about not getting a souvenir once he arrives home; B)  He totally forgets he has the money and it falls out of his pocket, consequently I am out $10 and he has no souvenir to show for it; or the most preferable option C) He totally forgets he has the money, it stays lodged in the deep pocket of his shorts, he forgets all about the gift shop by the time he gets home and I am out nothing.  Thankfully, in addition to being the most preferable, option C is also the most likely.  That’s one of the things I love about AE – he doesn’t really have “the gimmes” so it is extremely likely that it won’t even occur to him to buy anything.  I guess I’ll see when he gets home.

My mother is in Playa del Carmen, Mexico this week with some of her girlfriends and I am INSANELY JEALOUS.  Not necessarily jealous that she is in Mexico (I have been there before and there are other island locales that appeal to me a little more – OMG travel snob much?), but I am very very envious that she is having a relaxing tropical vacation that undoubtedly includes tons of margaritas.  MAN.  I wish I could go sip a fruity alcoholic beverage while laying in the sand.  Sadly, I have little to no vacation time – maternity leave totally drained me.  Oh yeah, and there is the small issue of cash flow and also what to do with the children.  Because there is NO SUCH THING as a relaxing beach vacation when small children are involved.

N and I may not make it to a tropical island this year but we are planning a weekend trip to San Antonio without the kiddos in August, and I am very excited about that.  I love San Antonio, especially strolling down the River Walk in the early evening.  And there are plenty of excellent restaurants along the river where I can obtain a fabulous margarita and enjoy it in a totally unrushed and relaxing atmosphere, so YAY on all fronts.  CANNOT WAIT.

Wow, it turns out that I really don’t have anything interesting to say today at all (or ever, really, which is why practically everything I write falls into the “general pointlessness” category).  It’s amazing how long I can go on about nothing.  Imagine talking to me in real life.
